Samsung Galaxy The S5 is Samsung's new flagship for 2014. As usual with models Galaxy As usual, this time too, these are devices with hi-end hardware and exclusive functions that represent added value to the selling price of €670. However, what interests every reader of Samsung Magazine is how this new product is used, how it feels to the touch and, in general, how a person actually feels about using it. That is why we bring you our first impressions of using Samsung Galaxy S5, where we take a closer look at some features.

To begin with, we could start with the design. Design is what completes the phone from the outside and many times affects its sales. Galaxy The S5 is not metal as originally speculated, but plastic. In this case, it is almost literally true. The back cover does not offer a more luxurious leatherette than we could see on tablets and Galaxy Note 3, but a kind of more rubbery plastic, which also looks very thin even if you haven't removed the cover from the phone. Due to the fact that it is not leatherette, as one might initially think, it works Galaxy S5 slightly cheaper. Personally, I find it a great shame, especially since Samsung has put a more premium leather skin on every tablet this year, including Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite.

What I have to praise Samsung for this time too is the logical placement of the Power button on the right side. If you have problems using devices with a large display, then you will definitely be pleased that the button is located right at the height of your thumb. Therefore, locking the phone will not be a problem. When looking at the phone, we will also see another feature. Below the rear camera is the heart rate sensor. You can try it at any time after opening the S Health application, which is located as a widget on the device's home screen. When you open the Heartbeat tab in its menu, the phone tells you to put your finger on the sensor and stop talking or moving. If you do it, then you Galaxy The S5 will tell you what your current heart rate is within five seconds. If you are curious, then you will find that when you put your finger on it, the red LED lights up, next to which the sensor itself is put into operation.

Since I have already started the user environment and therefore the display, let's take a closer look at them. The user interface of the new Samsung Galaxy The S5 is indeed Flat, and as stated by Samsung itself, this environment is called TouchWiz Essence. It is flat, full of colorful icons and simpler graphic effects. This is also helped by the My Magazine section, thanks to which flipping through the pages of the home screen now feels like flipping through a magazine or book on your phone. In other words, you are uncovering other sides. What may confuse someone at first, but then surprise, is the new settings menu. The settings here literally act as another screen with applications, since the individual sections are divided into circular icons, as we could see on the invitation to this year's Unpacked 5 Event. However, you will find everything you need in them. Among other things, there is also Ultra Power Saving Mode, which saves the phone's battery in such a way that it limits its functions to the absolute minimum and activates only black and white colors. With a 100% charged battery and Ultra Power Saving Mode turned on, the phone can last up to 1,5 days of active use.

Samsung has finally solved the problem that is bothering some users. Technological evolution has caused phones to become thinner and therefore larger in order to accommodate a larger battery. Samsung Galaxy The S5 therefore offers a 5.1-inch Full HD display, which brings problems for people who prefer to use the phone with one hand. One-handed operation mode has been added to the settings, and as the name suggests, the phone adapts the screen so that you can use it with one hand. The mode works by literally shrinking the user interface and attaching this cutout to the bottom side of the screen. You can subsequently enlarge or reduce the cutout yourself, depending on how you will be able to operate the phone as comfortably as possible. I have to admit that this is a mode that really caught my attention, on the other hand it might seem strange to someone that a person would buy a big phone to use only part of its display. Regarding the display, I've also noticed that it's very easy for you to accidentally click on various elements on the sides of the phone when the display is on and you're looking at the back of the phone.
