samsung_tv_SDKSamsung Electronics has introduced the new Smart TV Software Development Kit (SDK) 5.0. It will provide developers with the tools needed to develop applications for the Smart TV platform. The biggest difference between SDK 5.0 and the current version lies in the expanding the types of devices that can be compatible with Samsung Smart TV. Thanks to the Development Kit 5.0, users will now be able to control Samsung home appliances, including lighting, air conditioning and refrigerators, through applications on their smart TVs.

"The Samsung Development Forum website aspires to be the world's largest community of TV app developers with increasing membership and app downloads," says YoungKi Byun, vice president of software research and development at Samsung Electronics. "Our goal is to provide more different platforms in the future and to improve the development environment in order to expand the ecosystem of Smart TV applications as much as possible," adds Byun.

The new version of the Development Kit was designed to meet the demands of the Samsung developer community, which will lead to the expansion of the number of compatible devices. One of the outstanding features of the new Samsung Smart TV SDK 5.0 is the Web UI Framework for Samsung Smart TV Caph (Beta Cassiopeia). Thanks to the new Framework, developers can use HTML 5 standards - more easily develop new applications with imaginative effects, more sophisticated animations and design. Samsung is also the first company in the Smart TV sector to use PNaCL technology, which will allow developers to develop applications through different smart TV models without having to worry about compatibility.

Samsung has also improved features in the new SDK 5.0, such as Multi Screen a IDE browser based. Multi Screen makes it possible to use applications both on TV and on a mobile device a IDE browser based it allows developers to work within a web browser without the need for a separate tool.
