It looks like we're getting the final specs from Samsung Galaxy S5 to Galaxy F. The renowned analytical company KGI Research published its expectations for this year's flagship, which Samsung should present already in February / February. KGI expects two different models Galaxy S5, Standard and Premium, and these may vary further depending on the country in which the phone was purchased. However, these are not big differences and the difference may be related to the processor and the baseband.

Interestingly, KGI remains "down to earth" and claims that both of this year's models will be plastic. This statement could make sense in a way, as we have already encountered reports that the premium model will actually have a cover made of metal and plastic parts. The fundamental news is that both phones will offer a 32-bit processor. While the premium model will offer an 8-core Exynos 5430, the standard model should offer a quad-core Snapdragon or an 8-core Exynos 5422. These differ in manufacturing process and performance. Interestingly, the processor is debatable only for the global version, while the Korean version is clearly supposed to offer Snapdragon.

Another major differentiating factor will be the display. Both models will offer a 5.2-inch AMOLED display, but their displays will differ in resolution. While the standard model will offer a resolution of 1920 x 1080 at a density of 423 ppi, the premium model will offer a resolution of 2560 x 1440 at 565 ppi. However, it is very questionable why Samsung wants to offer such a high resolution despite the fact that the human eye can no longer tell the difference. The models will also differ in the amount of RAM and while the standard model will offer 2GB of RAM, the premium model will offer 3GB of RAM, almost as Galaxy Notes. The new features include a 16-megapixel camera with PDAF support and a 2-megapixel front camera. All models will offer support for 3D gestures, a fingerprint sensor and a battery with a capacity of 2 mAh.

KGI's claims may be true, as the company has revealed true information several times in the past, such as product release dates, hardware specifications, or potential manufacturing issues. KGI therefore belongs to trustworthy informants, while it obtains its information mostly from supplier sources.
