Just briefly after the mentioned leak Samsung has officially announced a new generation of Gear watches. We originally expected the product to fall into the series Galaxy, but it didn't happen and Samsung introduced a completely new line of products. Ultimately, it is the Samsung Gear 2 and the Samsung Gear 2 Neo, both of which will be available in more than 80 countries around the world.
As Samsung announced in its press release, this watch was designed to take the freedom, convenience and style of smart accessories to the next level. The watch is from Galaxy The Gear is distinguished by improved connectivity and has been designed to offer the most personal user experience. The Samsung Gear 2 brings the first revolution, such that it is the first Tizen OS device in the world! Tizen has been redesigned specifically for the watch and is designed to be compatible with Androidom, which is found on the vast majority of Samsung smartphones.
Like the first generation, this one also includes a camera. Just as we expected, the camera is only found on the Gear 2 model, which is a 2-megapixel camera with LED flash and the ability to record 720p HD video. Despite the hole above the display, the Gear 2 Neo does not contain a camera. At the same time, the specifications of the cheaper variant are very similar to the device that was supposed to bear the name Galaxy Gear Fit and therefore we think they are one and the same device.
Each version will be available in three colors. The Samsung Gear 2 will be available in Charcoal Black, Gold Brown and Wild Orange, while the Gear 2 Neo will be available in Charcoal Black, Mocha Gray and Wild Orange. Samsung also claims that the user will be able to change the home screen background, watch face and font to completely customize their smartwatch. Both products track fitness activity and include a Sleep & Stress sensor. However, this app needs to be additionally downloaded from Samsung Apps. There is also a music player, or even an IR sensor for the function WatchHE. Both watches have an IP67 water resistance certificate, thanks to which they can be submerged to a depth of 1 meter.
