Foreign media reviewers did not only look at the flagship Galaxy S5, but they also looked at the accessories that will be sold alongside it. The first of them is a new generation of smart watches, which this time consists of two devices. Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo watches will be available from April/April, which are a lighter solution for athletes and wallets. How did these devices fare in the reviews? We have selected 4 reviews for you that can tell you more about the watch.

CNET:

"Samsung Gear 2 removes some of the disadvantages of the first generation, such as the need to have a phone with you when you want to listen to music. However, the quick update proves that Samsung is serious about its Tizen and wants to move slightly away from Google. However, the question remains how the new position of the camera and microphone will affect everyday use. Will they be much more practical than before, or will there be other problems with their use. However, what we can say already is that the camera looks and is placed much better than in the last generation, where it formed an ugly bubble in the middle of the bracelet. The Samsung Gear 2 (and also the Gear 2 Neo) are a sign that Samsung is really serious about smartwatches and their software.”

TheVerge:

"Samsung's first watch was largely a step to the side, but it can be seen that the company listened to the criticism and fixed at least some of the bugs in the new product. Samsung removed all the components from the strap and placed them directly inside the watch. There is also a Home button here, with which Samsung solved the problem with the clumsy closing of applications in the first generation. Both Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo are much smoother than the first Galaxy Gear and provide noticeably higher battery life. Samsung claims that the watch will last 2 to 3 days on a single charge, while the first model had to be charged every day.”

TechRadar:

“The Samsung Gear 2 is a good device – but not great. 3 days of battery life is good enough these days - but the winner will be whoever builds a battery that lasts a month of use on a single charge. The Gear 2s are solid, sleek and overall interesting – but we're concerned as to why Samsung hasn't announced a price yet. There are concerns for several reasons, but mainly because the watch will probably be as expensive as the first generation. Apparently, Samsung didn't take care to reduce the production costs below the level of the first generation and it is obvious that the team will anger the future customers. But the Gear 2 remains a strong device that's headed in the right direction for fitness too – and a fitness tracker is what we can get with them if they sell at the right price. But the price will definitely be right for the Gear 2 Neo watch, which is a simplified version and will probably be more popular with customers who will pay for it."

T3:

“It's definitely an upgrade from the original Gear. The Gear 2 brought a ton of features (especially the heart rate sensor) that visibly raise the bar of expectations from the competition. The heart rate monitor scored our reviewer at 89 beats per minute, a much more accurate result than it showed Galaxy S5. The colors of the display are very good and the standard wallpapers really liven up this display. However, whether it will be the best smart watch today will be revealed only by the review of the final product."
