Samsung unveiled a new version of its security client, Samsung Knox 2014, at Monday's MWC 2.0 in Barcelona. The new utility will be available for all its devices running on Androidwith 4.4 KitKat, but it will still come with features designed exclusively for the newly introduced Galaxy S5. The advantage is the integration of a fingerprint sensor, thanks to which the protection will have 2 factors, namely a finger scan, followed by the insertion of a code to unlock the device.

The company also released the Knox Marketplace, from where businesses can install Knox and other SaaS (software as a service) offerings. Knox 2.0 offers a cloud-based admin console that empowers IT administrators to control corporate mobile devices, IDs, and set user privileges.

The security client will already be pre-installed on the Galaxy S5, however, it will still be downloadable to other Samsung devices with Androidem 4.4. Samsung also claims that there are already over 1 million Knox users worldwide, and that number will increase rapidly when Galaxy The S5 goes on sale.
