Prague, February 28, 2014 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 in Barcelona, ​​Spain, it introduced developer kits (SDKs) for devices GALAXY S5 and Samsung Gear 2.

Following the launch of these latest devices, the SDKs were showcased in front of more than 500 app developers from around the world at the App Planet showroom at MWC at the Samsung Developer Day event. This already traditional conference organized by Samsung for developers has been held regularly since 2011.

The SDK for the Samsung Gear 2 based on the Tizen operating system was also presented to the public for the first time. In addition to these SDKs, the Gear Fit SDK for Samsung Gear Fit was introduced, indicating the potential for developing applications for wearable devices, and there were also informace relating to the development of games for the Game Pad gaming console.

Dr. Won-Pyo Hong, president and director of Samsung Electronics' Media Solution Center division, said: "Samsung will continue to provide more comprehensive SDKs for our mobile devices and continue to work with development partners to bring our customers a unique and brand new content and services.”

During the Samsung Developer Day event, Samsung also introduced the improved Samsung Mobile SDK 1.5 with support for fingerprint scanning technology, an improved motion detection feature that the device is equipped with GALAXY S5, as well as Multi-screen technology for developing applications that can run simultaneously on the TV and on mobile devices.

The S Health SDK was also introduced to developer partners. A customizable S Health app that uses health informace of users obtained through sensors, is available on various Samsung mobile devices.
