Samsung has received a patent for a new convenience that will surely please many of those who do not like the familiar hardware 'HOME' button. This is specifically a new way of lighting up the display and unlocking the phone, which works similarly to "Double Tap to wake" in the no longer used MeeGo operating system from Nokia. More precisely, the smartphone requires the user to make a loop with his finger on the display with at least one intersection, which will unlock the phone or turn on the display.

According to the details of the patent, the user must make a loop with at least one point of intersection on the display with his finger, but without specifying the dimensions, so it will be possible to make a loop across the entire screen. If Samsung implements this convenience in its future devices, we will probably soon see the possibility of assigning similar gestures to open different applications. It is not yet clear which device will carry this gadget first, but there is a possibility that we will meet it already on the premium version Galaxy S5, which, according to the rumors and leaks so far, will primarily offer a metal construction and optical image stabilization, which on the original Galaxy S5 is missing.
