Samsung S Band, originally an accessory to Galaxy S4, never made it to market, but the South Korean company wants to change that and will be released as a smartphone accessory Galaxy S5, Samsung Gear 2 and other devices expected to be released in the coming months. Samsung provided part of the manual to SamMobile Galaxy S5, in which there is a lot of writing about the S Band, even though most of the pictures still show last year's Galaxy S4. According to the provided screenshots, Samsung has decided to change the design of the entire device, so now the bracelet looks completely different from the way we know it from Galaxy The S4 actually looks like a crossover between the Gear 2 watch and another fitness band, the Gear Fit, which was introduced back in February at the Unpacked 5 event.

Like last year's S Band, this is a display-less device that functions primarily as a fitness sensor, and all data is displayed on a paired smartphone with an Activity Tracker app, or a new feature called S Health that will debut alongside the Galaxy S5. In addition to measuring pulse, pressure, fitness, health status, burned calories, pedometer and several other functions, the bracelet can also monitor your sleep, namely record data such as sleep duration, number of awakenings or recognize when the user was in light sleep and when in deep sleep.

Along with these functions, however, the S Band also manages to notify the user of calls and messages on the paired smartphone, and the built-in alarm will start vibrating and flashing an LED light immediately after the bracelet loses Bluetooth connection with the paired device. Like the Gear Fit, the S Band will have interchangeable straps that will be available in white, yellow, orange, and gray colors.
