Dutch portal AndroidToday, Planet.nl brought an interview with the head of Samsung's product team for Europe, Luke Mansfield. Mansfield, who has been with the company for several years, accepted a request for an interview and thus provided a lot of interesting information that we may not have guessed about yet. For example, the company conducts market research in Germany, France and other European countries in order to find out the demand for products and adapt its assortment accordingly. This is also the reason why some phones are only sold in certain countries.

However, the company takes several insights from its surveys and thus tries to solve all the problems that plague its phones. One of them is battery life. That's why Samsung developed its Ultra Power Saving Mode technology, which will reduce energy consumption Galaxy S5 to the absolute minimum. The phone will start displaying only black and white colors and will allow only basic functions to increase the battery life of the phone as much as possible. At the same time, it responded to the complaints of other users and secured this year's flagship with waterproofing, thanks to which it is apparently no longer necessary for Samsung to release the S5 Active model.

However, what many people seem to be interested in is the compatibility of the Samsung Gear 2 watch with smartphones. In addition to the Samsung Gear 2 being compatible with dozens of Samsung phones, it has been speculated that the Gear 2 will also support many other phones from other manufacturers. But what is the reality? Luke Mansfield says he is not aware of any such plans yet, but believes it will happen in the future. This would also mean that Samsung will release the Gear Manager application to the Google Play store and start offering it for phones from LG, HTC and others.
