obamaBlackBerry has been going through a very tough time in recent months. Several US government agencies have stopped using its smartphones in favor of feature phones iOS a Android. Latest to users Androidu will be added by US President Barack Obama himself, who should soon start using a smartphone from Samsung or LG. The decision itself comes from the internal technology team at the White House, which began testing special versions of phones from LG and Samsung.

According to the Wall Street Journal, these are supposed to be heavily modified phones that, although similar to commercially available models, will be very well secured and protected against any misuse of the data on it. The internal technology team of the White House participates in the security system in the phones in cooperation with the communications agency of the White House. The testing of the phones is still in the very early stages, which is why President Obama continues to use a BlackBerry phone. Although the time of the transition to the new phone is not set, it should happen before the end of his term in 2017.

BlackBerry itself, however, is not too enthusiastic about the new decision of the White House. The White House has been using its facilities for more than 10 years, and considering the current financial situation of the company, one can speak of a severe blow. BlackBerry claims that its phones have been perfectly adapted to the needs of US government agencies to maintain the highest possible level of security. LG told the WSJ it was unaware of the White House testing its phones, while Samsung indicated the US government has recently shown intense interest in its devices.
