A gas leak at one of Samsung's factories in southern Seoul has left one worker dead, according to Korea's Yonhap News Agency. He was a 52-year-old man who suffocated during the leak after the fire extinguishing system mistakenly detected the fire and released carbon dioxide into the factory's atmosphere. This is the umpteenth incident that the South Korean company has had to deal with in the past 18 months, raising a number of questions about the security of Samsung's factories in South Korea.

Last January, a large amount of hydrofluoric acid leaked at a factory in the South Korean city of Hwaseong, an accident that left one worker dead and four others hospitalized. Three more injuries were reported along with a similar incident 4 months later. Samsung is reportedly already working to ensure that similar problems do not recur, but even so it faces a police investigation and very likely a fine.
