Microsoft, a company that needs no introduction, has just officially introduced the next version of its operating system for mobile devices, that is Windows 8.1. This happened at the Build conference, where the software giant, together with WP 8.1, also revealed its latest feature, namely the voice assistant Cortana, which, in addition to acting as an equivalent to Apple's Siri, also inherited the name from the digital assistance from the legendary Halo game series.

He has been using a similar voice assistant, but with a less original name, since the show Galaxy S III and Samsung. It's called S Voice and, just like Siri or Cortana, it can use voice recognition in English perform some of the user's commands and searches most of the required information using the Google search engine, while Cortana searches the Internet using the Bing service.

He will come along with Cortana Windows Phone 8.1 also comes with other new features, including the new Action Center, i.e. the place where they are displayed informace such as the remaining percentage until the battery is discharged, notifications and others. Furthermore, we will see the possibility to set your own background on the operating system, add more "tiles" to the desktop, a new type of keyboard that allows the user to type by swiping over characters and many other conveniences. The official release date has not yet been set, but according to Microsoft, we can expect a new version of one of the most used operating systems for mobile devices within a few months.
