Yoon Han-kil, vice president of Samsung's product strategy department, said in an interview with Reuters that the South Korean company plans to start selling devices with the Tizen operating system as early as this summer. During it, at least two smartphones should be released with Samsung's own operating system, which is already used by the newly released smart watch Samsung Gear 2 and the smart fitness bracelet Samsung Gear Fit. The first released model should allegedly belong to the high-end category, the second should then be classified among midrange smartphones.

By using Tizen in new devices, Samsung wants to partially disconnect from Androidu, however, it will still be primarily focused on its market, which is why, according to Yoon Han-kil, he plans to release a smart watch this year that will run on the Google operating system. In addition, a representative of Samsung also confirmed that the sales of the model Galaxy The S5 will significantly outsell Galaxy S4, because almost twice as many Samsung units were sold already in the first week Galaxy S5 than its predecessor last year.
