Samsung has started sending emails to Smart TV owners saying that it will soon stop selling paid apps in the Samsung TV Apps Store. At the moment, it is not known when the company will take this step, but it claims that only those applications that can be downloaded for free will be available in the Apps Store, or the user must purchase a subscription from the application creator.
It means that people can still use subscription services like Spotify and Netflix, as the apps themselves are available for free. Samsung says that only a small number of paid apps will work after they stop selling them, and that's why it says that customers who bought the apps can request a refund. However, I cannot request a refund for those apps that will continue to work. The reason for the end of the sale of paid applications is with a high probability that the sale of paid applications via Smart TV was not as popular as the download of free and subscription applications.
