Galaxy Notes 10.1 AndroidFew would have expected Samsung to deal with software support for the former Galaxy Note 10.1″. The tablet from 2012 today runs on Androide 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and many of its owners already thought that Samsung has officially ended its support. But now it seems that its support is not over yet and owners will get an update to the Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The device will thus experience a software jump of two versions, since Android 4.2 years Android 4.3 for the first Galaxy Note 10.1″ never came out.

That Samsung is working on this software was revealed by XDA-developers forum user izap, who posted links to download a test version of the software. This is a build intended for the European version of the tablet, GT-N8000. The build is really fresh, as it was created on April 23rd, 2014. If you own this tablet and want to download the test version of KitKat now, then there are a few things to keep in mind. Any intervention in the firmware is done at your own risk, we take no responsibility for damage to your device. Also, keep in mind that this is a test software and may contain many bugs.
