IDC Samsung 2014IDC published the results of its market research for the first quarter of 2014. The results come only shortly after Samsung announced financial results for the mentioned period, which lasted from January 1/January to March 31/March 2014. The company itself stated that its mobile the division recorded sales of $30,3 billion. But what Samsung didn't mention is that it managed to sell more smartphones in the first quarter of 2014 than all of its main competitors combined. Samsung even sold twice as many phones as Apple.

IDC reports that Samsung shipped 2014 million devices during the first quarter of 85, while Apple was able to ship 43,7 million iPhones. Significantly smaller numbers were reported by other major competitors, Huawei, Lenovo and LG. Huawei shipped 13,7 million smartphones, Lenovo 12,9 million smartphones and LG 12,3 million smartphones during the quarter. Samsung's main competitors sold a total of 82,6 million devices. At the same time, Samsung can boast the highest market share, which represents 30,2% from a global point of view.

His biggest competitor, Apple, recorded a share of 15,5%. But we can see in the statistics that many less influential manufacturers are starting to grow, as during the past quarter they were able to ship 113,9 million smartphones, which secured them a total share of 40,5%. Last year, they shipped 84,2 million devices, so the increase in popularity is visible, especially if we take into account that Samsung shipped 69,7 million smartphones a year ago.
