http://samsungmagazine.eu/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/samsung_display_4K.pngWe've known for some time that Samsung is working on corneal sensing technology, as the company itself confirmed it. At the same time, she added that the technology is currently not ready for mass production, so we could expect it as a key feature only next year Galaxy S6 or Galaxy Note 5. Despite the fact that the technology is not quite ready yet, Samsung has already obtained patents for the user interface, which describe in detail what the process of verifying the cornea will look like and what will happen on the screen of the device in the meantime.

Surprisingly, Samsung applied for the patent in February/February and only got it last month. Currently, there are two patents that describe graphics and animation that appear on the device's screen during a corneal scan. Both patents are registered in the database of the patent office of South Korea, but we expect that Samsung will also apply for a patent in other countries of the world, including the USA. According to older speculations, the IRIS Scanning technology could have already appeared in Samsung Galaxy S5 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4, but due to demanding development, the technology was pushed to next year. Sources have also pointed out in the past that if Samsung wanted to use IRIS technology, it would have to add several sensors and a higher-resolution camera to the front of the device, as well as work on an entirely new form factor.
