IDC 2014Citing its sources, DigiTimes reported that Samsung's suppliers will earn less from parts production this quarter than last quarter. The main reason is the fact that Samsung wants to focus on the production of cheaper devices, which include the new SM-G110 and SM-G130 smartphones. The vast majority of devices they make should include an operating system Android 4.4.2 KitKat, which requires only 512 MB of RAM for its functionality.

Last quarter was more successful for suppliers as Samsung started mass production during it Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3 Neo and several other mid-tier and hi-end products. At the same time, the company produced several low-cost devices, which include, for example, Galaxy Ace Style.
