samsung 5g logoSlovak and Czech operators are only now switching to 4G networks, but the first 5G networks are already being tested in Japan. Japan's largest operator NTT DoCoMo has announced that it will begin testing 5G mobile networks, but these networks will initially be available only on selected devices and for testing purposes only. The operator chose Samsung and Nokia as its main partners, which should produce the first devices enriched with 5G network support.

The tested networks should be able to transmit data at a speed of up to 10 Gbps at a frequency above 6 GHz, while the maximum speed of 5G networks is up to 1000 times the maximum speed of 4G LTE networks. It is able to achieve the mentioned speed, but only under laboratory conditions, and the actual speed should be revealed by testing, which will take place in Japan for the next few years. It will initially be tested at an R&D center in Yokosuka, with urban testing starting next year. Samsung added to the announcement that 5G networks will not be ready for the public until 2020, so we still have enough time to enjoy 4G networks. However, manufacturers of other hardware, specifically Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Fujitsu and NEC, will participate in the testing.
