Samsung Galaxy 4 10.1 TabStrategy Analytics took a closer look at how companies fared in the global tablet market during the first quarter of 2014. In its statistics, the company reveals that 56,7 million tablets were shipped during the first quarter, a 17 percent increase over last year year. In the first quarter of 2013, 48,3 million tablets were shipped.

It remains the largest supplier Apple. iPad tablets have a global market share of 28,9% and are thus still the most widespread tablet on the market. However, their share decreased by 11,5% compared to last year. This was also helped by the growth in sales of other tablets led by Samsung. Strategy Analytics reports that Samsung tablets had a market share of 22,6% in the first quarter, up 3,7% from last year. The company shipped 12,8 million tablets, compared to 9,1 million last year. Surprisingly, tablets from Samsung took a larger share than Apple in Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
