Android batteryAt the MWC 2014 in February/February, Samsung decided to present its new ULTRA energy-saving mode, elaborated to the last detail, thanks to which the smartphone can last even more than 24 hours with only ten percent of the battery! Such savings are mainly achieved by changing the image scheme from color to black and white and by turning off some redundant applications. But what else can this special mode do, what factors need to be influenced to save energy and how much is it different from what we have encountered on smartphones until now?

The previous mode, used when the battery was almost empty, worked on the basis of a partial reduction in the performance of the entire smartphone, especially its CPU and a considerable decrease in the brightness of the display, but even so, the discharge was not slowed down in any way and unnecessarily running applications remained unfinished. On the other hand, not terminating some applications and connecting to different networks could have resulted in an advantage, i.e. in the event that the user would manually turn off inappropriate running functions, since the ultra-saving mode automatically turns off the connection of GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and applications other than the basic ones necessary for the phone to function as such. In the end, the phone can actually only be used for basic tasks, namely making calls, sending text messages, the Internet (if a mobile connection is available) and another 3 applications chosen by the user, the selection of which is considerably limited, but despite such limits, this mode aroused a positive response at the Unpacked event.

Another way in which to Galaxy S5 saves energy by using a different launcher (environment) immediately after starting the ultra-saving mode. The phone switches to a black-and-white scheme and a new main screen is created for the user, on which, in addition to six applications, the battery status in percentages and the time the smartphone should last without a charger are also displayed. The battery is still saved in this mode by turning off mobile data every time the user decides to turn off the display, so if a message or email should arrive via the Internet while the display is off, the phone will only notify you after turning on the screen. At the same time, the performance of the processor is also slightly reduced, but this is hardly noticeable during use.

With a month-old Samsung smartphone Galaxy So you certainly don't have to worry about the S5 running out of power and turning off your phone in a really important situation, because as was written earlier, even with 10 percent of the battery, you can still call, text or browse the web for the next 24 hours, if the ultra is turned on power saving mode. It is with him that the infamous Murphy's laws do not apply to you at least partially.
