samsung_display_4KOne of the April/April reports already showed that Samsung is planning to build a factory dedicated only to the production of flexible displays. This should be enough for the gradually growing demand for devices with flexible screens, which, according to available information, should grow even more rapidly over the next two years. The factory itself should be located in the South Korean city of Asan, and Samsung Display is said to be investing up to 6 trillion KRW (115 billion CZK, 4 billion Euros) in it.

Money should start flowing into Asan's A3 factory by the end of summer this year, with the entire 6 trillion expected to be invested in summer 2015, when productivity should reach 15 manufactured panels per month. The investment should also significantly affect the older, but equally focused A000 factory, whose productivity should increase threefold from 2 panels per month. Just from the amount invested, it is more or less clear that Samsung is serious about flexible displays, and we can probably look forward to countless devices over the next two years, whose displays will at least be curved, if not completely flexible.
