We get the first clear evidence that Samsung is preparing smart glasses. The accessory, which until recently was speculated to be the Samsung Gear Glass, could be called the Samsung Gear Blink, according to a new trademark. The company has applied to the Korean Patent Office for a trademark on this term, and given that the word "Blink" is in the name, it is clear that it will be a device that will be related to the eyes in some way.
Samsung could thus take advantage of the patents it has acquired in recent months and could introduce glasses that will include, among other things, a virtual keyboard. As Samsung revealed in its patent a few months ago, the keyboard would appear on the user's hands, tapping individual parts of the fingers with their thumbs. But it is also possible that Samsung Gear Glass will not offer this function at all, at least not in its first version. Samsung should present the smart glasses themselves at the IFA 2014 fair in Germany, where, according to speculation, it also plans to present Galaxy Note 4. The company would thus present its first smart glasses a year after the announcement of the watch Galaxy Gear. But the question remains how these glasses will be available. The company has stated in past interviews that it does not plan to turn people into a cyborg team, that it surrounds them with all kinds of electronics. So it is possible that Gear Glass will be available only to people who really want them and are willing to spend hundreds of euros for them. Well, we will find the answer to that only in the fall/autumn.
