heartTwo weeks ago, we already informed you that the chairman of Samsung Lee Kun-hee suffered a myocardial infarction, after which he was immediately hospitalized. The 72-year-old tycoon had been in a coma for two weeks and was only now awakened, according to the Wall Street Journal. Doctors told The Wall Street Journal that Lee Kun-hee woke up to a noise made by his family members.

According to available information, his family was watching a baseball game between Samsung Lions and Nexen Heroes at that moment. During it, leadoff hitter Lee Seung-yeop hit a home run, and the joy of victory, which caused the family to make noise, managed to wake up the 72-year-old chairman of Samsung. The hospital confirmed that Lee Kun-hee is beginning to regain consciousness, but declined to comment on whether he is able to communicate with those around him. Lee is currently recovering at the Samsung Medical Center in South Korea, a hospital built by his company. However, the conglomerate is still aware that after the heart attack, Lee may resign from his position and therefore began to look for a suitable successor to his position. Available information suggests that his 45-year-old son Jay Y. Lee, who currently serves as Samsung's vice chairman, will take his place.
