SPrague, June 3, 2014 - Mobile device GALAXY Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.'s 5 edition S10.1 and Note 2014 are the latest KNOX platform products to receive Common Criteria (CC) certification from the US government's National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP).

The Common Criteria international computer security certification standard certifies the design and implementation of security-sensitive products. At the same time, it provides a guarantee that the specification, implementation and evaluation of each solution have been thoroughly analyzed to meet the requirements of the Common Criteria. This guarantees that the certified devices are independently evaluated and verified in terms of the basic security requirements listed in the Protection Profile. The certification is currently recognized in 26 countries worldwide through Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement (CCRA).

There have already been requirements to protect traditional mobile devices and operating systems. However, they were becoming more sensitive to ever-changing and more advanced forms of attack, so a more robust criterion needed to be developed. NIAP set a new standard, Mobile Device Fundamentals Protection Profile (MDFPP), which provides more than 80 basic key security requirements, such as Key Management, Crypto Module, Device Encryption, WiFi Security, Screen Lock and Mobile Device Management (MDM). Published in October 2013, the MDFPP addresses the security requirements for mobile devices for enterprise use.

With this combination, both business customers and individual users can enjoy secure network access and high value informace both at work and at home. At the same time, they have the opportunity to use one device for work and personal use.

Samsung has continuously validated its key cryptographic modules, starting with the FIPS 140-2 certification of the cryptographic module in the device GALAXY With Ⅱ. They happened in February 2014 GALAXY S4, Note 3 and Note Pro 12.2 the first MDFPP CC certified devices in the mobile industry.
