At the end of last month, we reported that Samsung is preparing its own virtual reality headset, a device similar to the well-known Oculus Rift glasses. According to previous speculations, it was supposed to be called Samsung Gear Blink and was supposed to be connected to smart glasses, but the situation apparently developed differently and according to a patent that appeared at the US Patent Office, this futuristic device will be called Samsung Gear VR and probably connected to smart glasses won't be.
According to available information, Samsung will cooperate in production with a company that has already produced one such headset, i.e. Oculus VR. The Samsung Gear VR displaying virtual reality should have an OLED display and it should be possible to pair it with some smartphones or tablets. Other informace regarding this headset are not yet available, as well as the official release date or at least the presentation, but according to some guesses we should expect the announcement itself already in September/September at a conference where the new Samsung phablet should also be presented Galaxy Footnote 4.
