Not long after a virtual reality headset called the Samsung Gear VR appeared at the US patent office, the South Korean manufacturer decided to register another trademark related to Samsung's wearable devices. This time it's the Samsung Gear Store, and as the name suggests, this news is probably an online app store for Samsung Gear devices.
This statement is supported by the very description of the patent, which states: "Samsung Gear Store is application software designed for wearable computer peripherals, wearable computers, wearable mobile devices, smartphones and mobile phones." Until now, it was possible to download applications for Samsung Gear smart watches from the Samsung Apps store, so it's possible that the new Gear Store will be more or less the same, but better optimized for those devices. In the future, the app store should be available on Samsung Gear series smartwatches, a planned virtual reality headset, and the much-discussed smart glasses. It is not entirely certain whether the store will also get the Samsung Gear Fit fitness bracelet due to the limited options, but there is certainly a better chance than it will appear on the new version of the Samsung Gear, which will have a system instead of Tizen Android Wear.
