Samsung and SmartThingsSamsung is not far behind the competition, and according to the latest information from the TechCrunch portal, it plans to buy the company SmartThings, which produces smart home electronics. The South Korean giant apparently wants to respond to Google, which a few months ago for $3.2 billion (approx. CZK 64 billion, EUR 1.8 billion) "acquired" Nest, a company engaged in a similar field, as SmartThings.

As already mentioned, SmartThings makes smart home electronics. But what should we imagine under that? For example, controlling water, lights, doors or cameras automatically or only using a smartphone. This is made possible by special software together with built-in sensors, but the list of what SmartThings has does not end there. In addition to hardware, the company also develops open source software and even mobile applications, so Samsung would probably get all of this in the event of a purchase. Specifically, the two companies then talk about the amount of 200 million dollars (4 billion CZK, 115 million Euros), so compared to the Google deal, it would be a "cheap" matter.
