google-play-logoIn recent days, the European Commission has complained to Google about the company's failure to warn about in-app purchases, but that has now changed. The company concluded an agreement with the European Commission and member states, within which Google will no longer refer to freemium applications as "Free" applications. At the place of this inscription, only an empty space remains, with the fact that in order to find out the details, the user must click directly on the application, and there he will learn that he can install the game, but not for free.

After clicking on the word Install, a typical window with permissions will appear, in which Purchases in the application, or in-app purchases, are located in the first place. At the same time, the company modified its purchase verification system and will now require a password for every in-app purchase, unless the user adjusts this restriction in the phone settings. The third step in strengthening security is that Google has started asking developers that in-app purchases are not incorporated into games in a way that directly encourages children to buy them. It was the children who "robbed" their parents of hundreds of dollars in the past iTunes App Store, for which the US Treasury Department sued Apple and asked him to return the money to the injured parties. All changes should take effect by September / September, with some changes visible in Google Play already.
