windows-8-1-update1That Microsoft is working on Windows 8.1 Update 2, was known almost immediately after it introduced and released Update 1. The update was originally supposed to bring several fundamental changes, including the old Start menu and the ability to run Metro applications on the desktop. None of this was officially confirmed, so Microsoft could easily change its plans, which it eventually did. Instead of the changes that Microsoft showed on the concepts, there will be Windows 8.1 Update 2 will be an update that will focus on bug fixes, changes under the hood and a few other changes that users won't even notice.


Thus, Microsoft postponed major changes in the system design until next year, when it plans to introduce them Windows 9, known as Threshold. It should bring several comprehensive changes not only in the design, as Microsoft plans with the future version Windows bring several different "designs" for specific types of devices. Small tablets, for example, will not contain a desktop at all, super-cheap laptops with Windows 365 are supposed to offer a desktop with limited features, and desktop users won't be able to use Metro at all for the change. However, a mix of everything will be available to users of laptops and more expensive tablets. Expected update Windows 8.1 Update 2 will eventually come out as a fairly common update that users will not even notice and will simply install it after the system prompts users to restart the computer. The update is due out on August 12 without much fanfare.
