Internet logoHave you ever been angry that your internet is slow? We have good administration. We have the outlook for the future in our hands. You just need to invent a device that can receive such a speed. What is it about? Read on. Recently, Danish scientists from the Technical University announced that they have created a fiber-optic cable to transmit the Internet at a speed of 43 terabits per second. They named this invention: "Usain Bolt" after the fastest sprinter in the world.

However, not all of us understand the term Terabit, as it is something different from Terabyte. Converted, it comes out to 4,9 TB per second, which seems much less than the number 43, but it is not. With this speed, you can download a 1GB movie in just 0,2 milliseconds!!! It can also be compared with a simple example from life. The average blink of an eye is between 100-400 milliseconds. This means that you could download 500 to 2000 movies in the blink of an eye.

Scientists were inspired by a cable invented earlier this year. The commercial name of this cable is Flexgrid and it can operate at a speed of 1.4 Tbps (Terabit per second), which translates to 163 GB/s. This is a tremendous speed, but compared to the new invention, which is 31 times faster, it is a negligible speed. The best news is that the researchers did not use any specially adapted cable, a classic cable from the Japanese telecommunications company NTT DoCoMo was enough for them.

We just have to hope that it will reach us as soon as possible.
