Berlin, September 5, 2014 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today presented an innovative printer concept with new printing options at IFA 2014 in Berlin. The four concepts of printers and their accessories are intended for both households and small businesses and include several colorful designs in non-traditional shapes. Eco-friendly features such as the option to use recyclable paper are an integral part. These design concepts won several iF Design Awards 2014 in the Concept Design category. Samsung expects the new printers to play an important role in the growing mobile printing trend.
"The idea of the new Samsung printers is based on the emphasis on three main attributes – ease of use, mobility and quick usability. We developed the devices in such a way that they meet the trends of mobile printing at home or in the office, as well as the trends of environmentally friendly technology,” said Seungwook Jeong, Printing Solutions Designer at Samsung Electronics.
Innovative printers for homes and offices
In line with the growing trend of mobile printing, the "Vase" model is designed to take up minimal space in the living room. Its standing design allows paper to be inserted vertically, thus saving space. There are several neutral colors available, so they will suit any living room.
"Egg tray" is an environmentally friendly toner container made from fully recyclable paper. Instead of a conventional box that contains a lot of empty space inside, an instruction manual and a warranty card, the "Egg tray" uses a single molded tray and recycled paper. This reduces material costs and the packaging is also more environmentally friendly.
"One & One," is a mono laser printer with a hybrid design that can print in two different colors. Two cartridges allow users to print in cyan, magenta, or yellow in addition to the standard black toner.
"Mate" is a black and white laser printer that each user can customize according to their taste. They simply choose the color of the device using color panels and thus ensure perfect harmony of the printer with the design of the room where it is placed. The panels can be changed again at any time according to the personal preferences of the consumer.
