Prague, September 29, 2014 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. launches a series of commercial UHD displays under the QMD designation. There is available 85 inch model (QM85D) designed for retail and corporate environments where digital content plays a critical role in acquiring, engaging and educating business customers.
The QMD series is characterized by a new design, UHD image quality, the ability to display several formats at once, optimal flexibility and unique image brightness in a commercial environment.

Immersive visual experience
Samsung QMD commercial displays show the fine details of projected content and offer four times the resolution of Full HD. It takes care of the sharpness of the displayed content in UHD quality 3840 x 2160 pixel density. Photos and videos are clear down to the smallest detail and thus appear truly realistic. Plus, technology Upcaling improves the display of content with a lower, Full HD resolution.
Using high restorative frequency 60Hz the QMD series ensures seamless playback. It thus eliminates jerky playback, which is often caused by a lower refresh rate. Thanks for the support Display Port 1.2 for 60Hz UHD resolution, the QMD series ensures a true UHD experience.
Dynamic connectivity
Along with taking full advantage of the display's superior image quality and large format, Samsung QMD also offers a wide range of content display options. Function Picture-By-Picture (PBP) allows you to run up to four Full HD windows on one screen at the same time. Picture-in-Picture (PIP), multi-screen or split-screen functions further expand the possibilities of using displays. For example, users can activate a video conference window on a large part of the screen, while additional documents will be visible elsewhere. They can also present photos of the product alongside a list of its specifications. These PIP functions adapt to the needs of business customers and the various demands of digital content.
Improved display functions
Samsung QMD displays are equipped with a pivot mode, which allows the screen to be rotated horizontally or vertically, according to the user's needs. The operating time has also been extended - the displays are designed to operate up to 16 hours a day, seven days a week. Furthermore, Samsung plans to launch a new Set-Back Box (SBB) with support for UHD resolution, which will be attached to the back of the display, thereby eliminating the need to connect the SBB to the display with additional cables. Furthermore, an additional structure will no longer be required to hold a content player with support for broadcasting content in UHD resolution.
QMD displays should appear on the Czech market during October this year.
