Frankfurt Book Fair 2014Prague, October 9, 2014 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. became the first ever Innovation Partner of the Frankfurt Book Fair. At this world's largest trade fair for the international publishing industry, Samsung presents its mobile devices with an emphasis on the possibilities of reading digital content.

"Books are increasingly reaching consumers in various electronic forms. That's why we strive to produce innovative devices that support new forms of creative storytelling and content. In this spirit, we have partnered with the Frankfurt Book Fair to demonstrate our commitment to the global publishing industry and our drive to provide a diverse reading experience. This is also evidenced by our mobile devices, led by the latest GALAXY Note 4 and Tab S,” said Younghee Lee, Executive Vice President of Global Marketing, IT and Mobile Division at Samsung Electronics.

Juergen Boos, director of the Frankfurt Book Fair, added: "The publishing industry is developing rapidly together with the transition of consumers from traditional to digital reading. Samsung began to look more closely at digital reading in 2013, when it was Reading mode (a feature that sets the background color of tablets for easier reading) listed at GALAXY Note 8.0. Earlier this year, Samsung introduced the eBook service, which brings the ultimate digital content reading experience to smartphones and tablets in the range GALAXY. Thanks to our own technology Adaptive Display it also solved the difficult challenge of tablet display brightness. This allows digital content to be read outdoors and in low light conditions, but is gentle on the eyes.

In the US, Samsung collaborates with a bookseller Barnes & Noble for introduction GALAXY Tab 4 NOOK, i.e. the very first fully equipped tablet on the platform Android, which will be optimized for reading.

“Samsung recognizes the importance of digital reading, as well as the challenges facing the market in terms of both devices and content. By being pro GALAXY Tab 4 NOOK reading first, Samsung is responding to consumer demand in a way never seen before in the mobile technology industry.” said Michael P. Huseby, CEO of Barnes & Noble.

The partnership with Samsung has helped us maintain this level of quality and given us the opportunity to deliver our digital comics through innovative devices that go beyond color and print quality.
