One of the aspects that are on Androidu most often criticized is the abundance of viruses. There are many times more of these unpleasant pieces of code for Google's operating system than, for example, for its main competitor in the form of iOS and recently the most used mobile OS in the world has been plagued by another dangerous virus. It is called Selfmite.ba and is a much stronger successor to the older Selfmite.a, which users had the opportunity to enjoy at the beginning of this year.
Selfmite.b itself belongs to the category of so-called worms, and its main task is, of course, nothing else than to cause damage thanks to the infected device. How? Simply, after it gets into the system, it starts repeatedly sending links to alternative or unverified application stores to all contacts using SMS messages, the subsequent download of which Android the worm spreads further. And it is precisely in the number of sent SMS that it differs from its predecessor, because Selfmite.a was scripted only to send one message to the first twenty contacts in the list, the version labeled "b", however, as already mentioned, sends links to the entire list and which is the main thing, he keeps doing it over and over. This is precisely why the virus is so dangerous, because after just a few days the phone bill can reach astronomical heights.
In the last 10 days, over 150 messages with unwanted content have already been sent thanks to about a hundred infected devices, which is already more than 000 times more damage than Selfmite.a managed to do during its existence. Fortunately, Czech and Slovak users do not have to worry yet, Selfmite.b has already appeared in more than 100 countries, but most of them fall under the Central America and Asia region, but in any case, we definitely do not recommend downloading or even installing APK files from unverified sources, it may not turn out well.
