CyanogenModCyanogenMod is currently the most used custom ROM for Android, users worldwide have it installed on more than 12 million devices. However, according to the latest information, all these devices are in potential danger, because as it turned out, due to a serious error in the code, CyanogenMod is susceptible to so-called MitM (Man in the Middle) attacks, in which a hacker intercepts messages between users and possibly changes and forwards further.

According to the anonymous person who found out about the ROM vulnerability, the fault lies in the negligence of the CM creators themselves, who, according to him, only copied and used a part of the outdated java code from the Java 1.5 version, which contains bugs, due to which it lacks resistance to MitM attacks. Of course, the "discoverer" of the problem immediately let CyanogenTeam know, and users using this popular ROM on their devices can only hope that the next update's changelog will include a point to fix this nasty bug.
