SThe US government has recently approved the KNOX platform as a system suitable for use in the government sector. The US government has therefore approved that its members can use Samsung devices to work on internal documents on their smartphones. In total, the government approved 9 devices that can be used in cooperation with Samsung software Galaxy IPSEC Virtual Private Network Client. These are Samsung devices Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Notes 3, Galaxy Notes 4, Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition), Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Alpha and tablets Galaxy Tab S.

These devices, together with the IPSEC VPN client, have been included in the list of commercial solutions suitable for classified information. It's also a commercial advantage for Samsung, as the company can now promote KNOX as a security platform used by the US government. Earlier this year, Samsung mobile devices were added to the DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency) list and now the devices have been approved by NIAP, making them the very first consumer phones to be authorized for use in the government sector. In addition, Samsung is the only smartphone manufacturer that appears on both lists.
