Gameboy on Android WearAndroid Wear watches, specifically the Samsung Gear Live, may at first glance seem like a rather small device that can't do much compared to its larger versions in the form of smartphones and tablets. Error. As we have already seen recently, the Gear Live can run even a desktop operating system without any problems Windows 95, but the capabilities of this watch do not end there, on the only Samsung watch with an operating system Android Wear the user can also play "retro" game titles from the Game Boy Color console, which celebrated its 16th birthday five days ago.

This can be achieved in 10 simple steps, so simple that they shouldn't even take up 30 minutes of your time. Please note in advance that you must have a desktop PC, a phone with an operating system Android and of course the watch with Android Wear OS – Samsung Gear Live. At the same time, one of the Game Boy pro simulators must be downloaded to your computer before the procedure itself Android (or its APK file), this can be achieved with the help of the program APK Downloader. For all emulators we can name, for example, VGB, but there are a lot of them to be found on Google Play and it is up to you which one to choose, but we recommend avoiding emulators with action bars, i.e. upper bars, in which the "menu" buttons are most often found or "search", namely the Gear Live or their OS Android Wear they do not support.

If everything is fulfilled, it is enough to follow only these 10 points:

  1. Install ADB, Fastboot and relevant drivers. This can be done in a simple way by downloading and installing this app.
  2. Activate the "Developer options" option on your watch, this can be done in the "Settings" application and the "About device" section, where the option is activated after seven taps on the "Build number" button.
  3. Enable "USB Debugging" in Settings > Developer Options.
  4. On the smartphone, in the application "Android Wear", activate "Debugging over Bluetooth".
  5. Connect the smartphone to the PC (via USB).
  6. Open a command prompt on your PC (Start > Run > cmd) and type "adb devices" into it.
  7. Connect the watch by typing “adb forward tcp:6666 localabstrack:/adb-hub” and “adb connect localhost:6666”.
  8. Use the "adb devices" command again.
  9. The watch should now be included in the list of devices under the name "localhost:6666 device", so we will install the downloaded emulator on it by writing the command "adb -e install", dragging the APK file to the command line and then sending the command.
  10. The emulator should be installed on your watch, after which it should show "SUCCESS". If not, repeat the procedure from step 6.

After these 10 steps, it's more or less done, just download it from Google Play Wear A Mini Launcher that will allow you to run the APK of your chosen emulator. To connect the Bluetooth controller as in the video below, you then need to install its own application in the same ten steps and connect the two devices via Bluetooth.
