Prague, November 13, 2014 – The new generation of Samsung Gear S smart watches meets the needs of active users. Like previous models, the Gear S allows you to read SMS, receive calls, set notifications or write emails. However, the novelty is that the user does not have to have the phone with him all the time to use all the functions of the watch. In terms of connectivity and apps, too, Samsung went much further with the Gear S model.
Gear S connection variability includes 3G, Bluetooth i WiFi. Users are thus informed without restrictions about all notifications from social networks, in the calendar or in applications, even if they do not have their smartphone with them. The watch works independently thanks to the nanoSIM card, which is inserted into the slot on the back of the display. Informace are displayed through basic widgets and notification windows. The Gear S smart watch supports its owner as much as possible in various activities. In addition to the usual features, Samsung has decided to expand the possibility of leading an active life while still being in touch with the surroundings, and has partnered with Nike. Gear S owners will have thanks to the application Nike + Running running motivation always in front of their eyes and they record their data without having to have their smartphone with them. You can watch everything right on your wrist informace including distance, time, pace, heart rate or NikeFuel points. The app also includes a built-in music player where runners can select music from a playlist with just a tap. In addition, the achieved results can be easily shared with friends in a few seconds.

- Nike+: Running app – allows you to start tracking your route through the Gear S.
- S Health: Pedometer (measurement of steps using a gyroscope), Exercise (running, walking, cycling and hiking) - allows you to use measurements using GPS or a pedometer, measures heart rate, sleep, UV intensity.

- Endomondo, Runtastic – allows you to start route measurement via Gear S.
- Deezer Gear – control of the music application.
- Sleep as Android – measuring the progress of sleep.
- Travel Translator – translation into 37 languages with voice input.
- Messenger flexes, 5 SMS tiles – an alternative application for sending SMS (a different way of entering text).
- Instant Settings – allows you to control the settings on your phone remotely.
- Gear Essentials category: Compass, Timer, Voice Memo, Stopwatch.
- Hry: Escape for Gear, 2048 for Gear.
- FlashLight Lite – flashlight in Gear S.
The Samsung Gear S also offers features such as 24-hour news or the Financial Times "fastFT" service together with advanced Spritz reading technology.
Note: to download apps to the Gear S, you must first install the Samsung Gear Manager app on your phone/tablet and then select the Gear Apps menu.
