UFS FlashThese days, Samsung is preparing to start production of the ultra-fast UFS 2.0 NAND Flash memory that it plans to use in its future flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S6. Until now, eMMC NAND Flash memory technology was used, which was able to achieve a transfer speed of 400 MB/s. However, thanks to the new second-generation UFS technology, the memory will be in the phones Galaxy S6 capable of reaching a transfer speed of up to 1.2 GB/s, i.e. a speed three times higher.

This will of course be reflected in the transfer of large files, such as the transfer of 4K videos using an LTE-A connection. In addition, compared to eMMC 5.0, the technology offers up to 50% lower consumption, which has a positive effect on the battery life of the new phone. Samsung also plans to use the technology in its SD and microSD cards, and is apparently already working hard on it. Samsung's main Chinese rival, Xiaomi, also plans to use UFS Flash memory, and it seems that Toshima, Hynix and Micron will also show interest in it. In addition, thanks to UFS technology, Samsung will be forced to use the microUSB 3.0 port if it wants to use the transfer speed when transferring files from a computer to a mobile phone and vice versa.
