Prague, December 16, 2014 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., introduces the SMART Signage Outdoor OMD series displays that will help businesses increase the effect of their presentation in indoor outdoor environments. Behind the bright, vivid and energy-saving display is Samsung's LED backlight technology called BLU. There are two model series of displays in sizes from 46 to 75 inches, which can be used in different panels or as stand-alone displays.
With a sophisticated slim design, automatic brightness sensor, integrated Wi-Fi and content management system (CMS), Samsung OMD commercial displays ensure an extraordinary display experience for both business and end customers.

Unrivaled visibility and energy efficiency
Samsung OMD outdoor displays have a brightness of 2 nits. They impress with better visibility and readability in any ambient light. Their high contrast ratio of 500:5 enables consistent, clear and vivid visual messaging, unlike conventional displays placed directly in shop windows, where the contrast ratio drops significantly when exposed to a brighter light source. Samsung OMD displays are also characterized by low energy consumption, which meets the demands of businesses to reduce costs when presenting digital messages.
Easily customizable content
The new displays are equipped with the Magic Info Player S2 content management system, which enables simple content updating, publishing and seamless configuration through the integrated second-generation Samsung Smart Signage Platform (SSSP) with built-in Wi-Fi. Using the web authoring tool, businesses can edit and create professional promotional content. More than 200 pre-made, industry-specific templates are included.
The built-in Wi-Fi module provides enhanced connectivity, improved control and added functionality to meet the needs of businesses in real time. For example, businesses can upload content using a mobile device or computer and publish it straight away, or organize content using built-in Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct or a USB connection.

Flexibility and durability
Samsung offers two model series, OMD-K and OMD-W, which include displays with a diagonal of 46, 55 and 75 inches. They can be used in different panels or as stand-alone displays.
- OMD-K: the kit-type display is optimized for use in custom assemblies. This variant meets a wide range of uses and the needs of the given environment, including passages, passageways and areas used for orientation and entertainment.
- OMD-W: the display is ideal for use in covered outdoor areas as a stand-alone display - for example in shop windows. The aesthetic rear panel hides the port connections and power supply.
Samsung OMD displays have been specially designed to deliver excellent performance in demanding environments thanks to highly durable LCD housings, while also being able to withstand harsh environmental conditions including high temperatures and direct and indirect sunlight.
Slim design
The sophisticated thin profile of the display and the frame also fulfills an aesthetic function, making it a great fit for cosmetics stores, entertainment venues, grocery stores or fast food restaurants. The thin bezel, which has an overall width of only 15,8 mm when two screens are connected, makes OMD the ideal display for creating complete video walls or impressive stand-alone panels in shop windows.
