TizenWhile slowly coming informace about the first Tizen smartphones, Samsung decided to take one major step. As part of the expansion of its own Tizen ecosystem, whether in terms of hardware or software, representatives of the company met with the executive director of the Taiwanese firm MediaTek, well-known in Asia for the production of semiconductors, to discuss cooperation in increasing the reach and overall popularity of Tizen.

In the past, Samsung used chipsets from MStar in its products, even up to 60% of all electronic products from the South Korean company are supposed to have technology from MStar, but it was bought out by MediaTek last year and it suddenly became the second largest seller of SoC for smartphones, immediately after Qualcomm. At the same time, it offers reasonable prices, and cooperation with MediaTek should significantly help Samsung reduce the prices of upcoming Tizen smartphones.

Samsung currently uses its own Tizen OS in TVs, cameras, watches and some smartphones, but in the future it wants to expand its range of Tizen products considerably, and MediaTek should become the main SoC provider, which, thanks to its mentioned low prices, fits perfectly into Samsung's current strategy. when the company wants to release smartphones affordable to more people in response to the abysmal fall in profits in the third quarter of last year.
