The long-term cooperation between Samsung and Renault culminated in another innovation. This time, the South Korean giant announced the third generation of the popular SM5 Nova, which is actually a facelift of the Renault Latitude. The third generation is important for Samsung, as the SM5 model is such a driving force for the car company and while the first model received 700 orders a day, last year's model was bought by roughly 2 customers every month. In terms of design, the 500 model focuses mainly on the front, where engineers have changed the front mask. It is mainly characterized by a larger amount of chromium than before.
The changes do not stop at the front of the car and the 2015 Samsung SM5 Nova offers a redesigned bumper with new LED fog lights. For a change, new decorative elements have been added to the rear of the car, which beautify the design of the vehicle. Also new are new discs and rear-view mirrors with integrated turn signals. In the interior, higher-quality plastics were used in the basic equipment, and the higher equipment offers wooden paneling for a change. We will also meet the Hi-Pass function at the rear-view mirror, thanks to which it is possible to pair a smartphone with an on-board computer. And while we're at it, the new SM5 offers the R-Link2 multimedia system with even more functions and applications.
Under the hood hides a two-liter gasoline engine with a power of 141 horsepower. You can also expect front-wheel drive and a CVT transmission. Another model offers a turbocharged 1,6L engine with 190 horsepower and is paired with a dual-clutch EDC transmission. The third is a 1,5-liter diesel with 110 horsepower, also with an EDC transmission. The fourth model is a two-liter LPI, but even LPG is no problem for it. Like the first two-liter, this one will also offer a CVT and 140 horsepower. Samsung estimates that 60% of buyers will choose this model, and 5 people are expected to buy the Samsung SM30 this year.
