Samsung Level OnAt the beginning of the year, you could read a review of the Samsung Level Box mini portable speaker, which is actually a smaller version of the Level Box with a very pleasant sound and a really long battery life. Now, however, we will look at another product from the Level family, more precisely the Samsung Level On headphones, which pleasantly caught my eye with their appearance, and if you are not a true audiophile, the sound quality may not bother you. But let's look directly at the headphones.

Unlike the Samsung Level Over, their box is really small. It hides a portable case and, in addition to folded headphones, you can find a cable. The headphones are not wireless and therefore the included cable must be connected to them before use. It is ready for today's mobile era, and therefore you will find a hand controller with a microphone on it, so if you own a mobile phone with Androidom you can talk to them on the phone. However, the headphones are not (for quite understandable reasons) licensed for iPhone and therefore you cannot control the music player, Siri or make phone calls with them iPhone and not even on the iPod.

In terms of design, you will think that they are an ideal addition to Galaxy S5 or any of its derivatives. There is a dotted soft texture on the top, which you already know very well from last year's mobile phones. Only with the difference that here it is really soft, even as soft as a pillow and wearing headphones on your head is very pleasant. The earmuffs are just as soft, but they just sit on the ears, they don't cover them, unlike the Level Over. Another plus is that you can fold the headphones and, when folded, you can move them in the case that Samsung supplied as part of the package.

Sound

But let's look at the sound quality itself. The sound is what should decide whether you invest in headphones or opt for a different, cheaper or better solution. First of all, these are consumer headphones and not audiophile quality. There are completely different brands like Beyerdynamic or Marshall for that. But if your playlist consists of songs from Google Play and MP3s, then audiophile headphones are at the bottom of the list. Samsung has therefore adapted to the majority with the Level On models, and the sound quality corresponds to this. I listened to several genres on them, be it electronica, rock music or classic pop. You will notice that these headphones are not over-bassed, their power is at a reasonable level. So you can be sure that they won't give you a headache after a few hours of listening.

However, it is different with the quality of the treble. In my opinion, they don't sound as intense as they should and are less pronounced than, for example, with headphones Apple EarPods. You won't be very aware of this absence when listening to pop music or deep songs, but when it starts playing, for example Another Brick In The Wall, so you will notice the suppressed pitch. However, it is a price for the fact that, unlike EarPods, on which the solos sound really excellent, the Samsung Level On concentrates on the general concept of music. I would also like to praise the volume, which is really good here and does not deteriorate in any way even at higher volumes. The music experience is also supported by the processing of the headphones, as the bridge over the head and the ear cups are very soft.

Summary

Samsung Level On is essentially a headphone that will attract you with its premium design, which is rarely seen in ordinary consumer headphones. The design quality of the earphones is top notch and you will be equally pleased with the sound quality, provided you are not an audiophile or don't care about treble. In my opinion, the treble here could have been higher, but you will only hear it in certain genres and compositions where the treble is paramount. In terms of price, the Samsung Level On is sold the cheapest at €75, which is a price at which you could already buy cheaper headphones from Marshal or, with a bit of luck, come across other headphones from companies that directly specialize in sound. But if you are a person who listens to music from Google Play, streaming services like Spotify or has downloaded MP3s, then the Samsung Level On is the type of headphones that might interest you.
