Samsung GearA watch Apple Watch are currently one of the most discussed topics on the Internet. This is already a success for them, but the competition is not far behind in terms of achievements, and as the latest reports show, it is Samsung that has something to celebrate. According to the results of the analysis firm Statista, the South Korean giant is the clear number one in the smart watch market, so clear that the number of watches sold by Samsung in 2014 almost doubles the sales of the Pebble watch, which ranked second in sales.

In specific numbers, Samsung dominated in 2014 with its Gear watches 17.65% market and sold approx 1.2 million of their units, with the aforementioned Pebble in second place boasting "only" 700 units sold. And no wonder, Samsung released four different models of its watches last year, all of which could be classified as more affordable.

However, the question remains as to how much impact the release of competitors will have on Samsung's share Apple Watch, but it should be noted that Samsung should release at least one more smart watch this year, probably the Gear A. Compared to its predecessors, these should bring a lot of innovations, including a round display.
