Samsung Wireless Charger EP-PG920Samsung by our side Galaxy The S6 also sent the wireless charger Samsung Wireless Charger for review, thanks to which we actually got the opportunity to try one of the most important functions of the new phone. Well, before we release our extensive review Galaxy S6, we will look at an accessory that you can buy for your phone for around €30. And is it worth investing your money in it? After spending a few days using the charger and the new flagship, we can sum up that you will definitely like the Wireless Charger (also known as the S Charger Pad).

Samsung is counting on the fact that you buy the charger for your phone, so the packaging is very modest. In the green box, you will only find a charging surface in the shape of a circle with a diameter of approximately 9,5 centimeters and an instruction manual. So the charger is quite small, but there is still a chance that it could be a little smaller. What may surprise you is that Samsung tried to keep the shapes we are used to, and the shape of the charger resembles a soup plate, on top of which you will find an area with the company's logo and a rubber ring. Thanks to it, it will keep the phone in place and even if someone calls you, you don't have to worry about your phone falling to the ground. Unfortunately, we all know rubber and expect dust to stick to it.

On the side of the charger you will then find an opening for the microUSB port. As I mentioned above, you plug the charger from your phone into this port and you've just got your wireless charging pad up and running. You will actually create a dock on which you will then just place yours Galaxy S6 when you want to charge it. And this is where the process begins, when you begin to realize how beautiful wireless life can be.

Samsung Wireless Charger

In other words, you don't have to worry about which side you should connect the USB to the phone, and above all, you will prevent the risk of the terminal breaking if you accidentally drop the phone on the ground. From now on, all you have to do is place your phone on the charging plate and let it sit there. Within a second, the phone will vibrate to inform you that it has just started charging wirelessly. Advantage Galaxy The S6 is that it has built-in support for the Qi standard, so you don't have to deal with all kinds of additional packaging. You simply place the mobile phone on the mat. (And it looks like it's going to get even more interesting in the future, with Samsung and IKEA working on furniture that you'd plug into electricity and have your living room coffee table act as a large induction surface.)

However, the charging time is slightly slower with induction charging than with classic cable charging. Charging from 0 to 100% takes approx Galaxy S6 exactly 3 hours and 45 minutes, which is 2,5 times longer than when charging with a cable. On the other hand, you mostly charge your phone at night, so if you're not in the habit of sleeping only 3,5 hours, it won't bother you too much. The advantage, however, is that wireless charging will become something of a habit, and while you used to put your phone on the charger overnight or only when it was critically discharged, you will put it on the pad practically at any time, because it does not delay you in any way. And when someone texts you or calls you, you don't have to sit by the charger, but simply pick up the phone and put it back. Nothing difficult.

The charger itself then has LED indicators, thanks to which you know whether your mobile phone is charged or still charging. Samsung took into account the shape of the charger and therefore it is a lighting circle. The light is not very strong, so it does not strain your eyes, but at the same time it is strong enough to see it even during the day. During charging, the LED is blue all the time, and as soon as the mobile reaches 100% charge, it changes to green. Finally, when you put your ear to the charger, you can hear the rhythmic sound associated with the transfer of energy through air, plastic and glass. If I had to compare it to something, it's like tapping on a glass cup, only it's several times quieter and you can only hear it when you're about 10 centimeters away from the charger.

Summary

To sum it up, wireless charging is something that once you start using it, you get so used to it that you don't want to get rid of it. It fulfills its purpose perfectly, and as a bonus, the charging process will be more convenient and turn into a habit that you may not be aware of over time - it simply happens that you come home or to the office and your Galaxy You place the S6 on a wireless adapter like the one we're currently reviewing. The Samsung Wireless Charger not only fulfills the above, but also has a familiar design imitating a soup plate. On its top you will find a rubber ring that serves as an anti-slip protection that will last even when someone is on the phone. On the other hand, it's still rubber and you have to expect that after unpacking it won't look like it did before and dust will stick to it. The charging process is more time-consuming than traditional cable charging and charging Galaxy The S6 takes 3 hours and 45 minutes, while via cable it's only an hour and a half. However, it should still be taken into account that you charge the phone especially at night. It is available in two colors - white and black.
