Samsung has updated the SSD 850 EVO series

Prague, April 2, 2015 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a world leader in advanced memory technologies, expands its SSD offering with two new models: 850 EVO M.2 a 850 EVO mSATA. These drives are based on the award-winning SSD 850 EVO series, launched in December 2014. They are based on the breakthrough 3D V-NAND technology by Samsung for maximum performance and durability. Thanks decimal weights compared to traditional 2,5-inch SSDs, M.2 and mSATA SSDs are ideal for users who want to upgrade their desktops or ultra-thin notebooks with high-capacity and high-performance storage.

In December 2014, Samsung introduced the SSD 850 EVO based on 3bit 3D V-NAND technology, which significantly improves everyday computer work thanks to overcoming the density limitations of conventional planar NAND architecture. It uses 3D V-NAND 32 layers of cells on top of each other, instead of reducing the size of the cells in an attempt to fit them into a fixed horizontal space. The result is higher density and more power in a smaller area. With the latest SSD, M.2 and mSATA models, more consumers with desktop or ultra-thin PCs can benefit from the best-in-class performance and reliability of the 850 EVO V-NAND drives.

The Samsung 850 EVO mSATA SSD is available with a capacity of 1TB, 500GB, 250GB a 120 GB. Read speeds of up to 540 MB / s and enrollment up to 520 MB / s they are top notch just like the 2,5 inch 850 EVO. The 850 EVO M.2 is available in size 500 GB, 250 GB a 120 GB. In the case of this SSD, the reading speed is up to 540 MB / s and write speed up to 500 MB / s.

Each drive handles large data transfers and complex multi-tasking operations using technology Samsung TurboWrite. Models with a capacity of 500 GB and 1 TB thus manage a random write speed of up to 88 IOPS (input/output operations per second) and a random read speed of up to 97 IOPS.

Similar to the 2,5-inch Samsung 850 EVO SSD, M.2 and mSATA offer increased reliability with sustained performance and AES 256-bit hardware encryption to ensure data security and protection.

Samsung M.2 and mSATA 850 EVO SSDs have a five-year warranty and durability 150 TBW (total bytes written) in the case of models with a capacity of 500 GB and above. They will be on sale in the Czech market from the end of April this year.
