Nvidia logoIt's been some Friday since Nvidia accused Samsung of allegedly infringing patents on graphics chips, which could have resulted in a ban on the sale of phones that also use Galaxy S5 to Galaxy Note 4. However, Nvidia accused Samsung somehow wrongly, because Samsung itself does not produce graphics chips and is only a customer of Qualcomm and ARM, who provide it with their Adreno and Mali graphics chips. That is why the US International Trade Office declared that the South Korean giant did not violate any patents and Samsung can continue to sell its phones on the US market.

However, the aforementioned office, better known by the abbreviation ITC, has the power to ban the sale of certain devices in the US, and if it turns out that Samsung has violated patents, the ITC could force the company to withdraw specific devices from sale. The company thus faces a ban on the sale of some older devices that infringe Apple's patents. However, these devices are so old that the vast majority of them are no longer even for sale, and if they are, they are probably only available as spare parts in service centers.
