Samsung kept the presentation of its new smartwatch until autumn/fall and unlike last year when it released four models, this year it released only two and both are a combination of innovation and fashion accessory. This is exactly how you could define the new smart watch from the Samsung workshop, which offers a round touch screen, a rotating bezel and, last but not least, many useful applications. Among them are also several applications from partners, which he most recently called ako "timeless".
These are companies that have also developed applications that use the capabilities of the watch to the maximum and thus try to make the use of their products as pleasant as possible with the help of the Samsung Gear smart watch. Apps from launch partners include Nike+ Running, Twitter Trends, Line Messenger, Yelp, Volkswagen, SmartThings (owned by Samsung since last year), Kevo and Voxer. All of the named applications are characterized by the fact that they are perfectly adapted to the new user interface and use a rotating bezel to allow users to move between individual functions and options in the given applications. Finally, Samsung expects that other developers will decide to use the Gear S2's capabilities as well.
And how do partner applications use them?
- Nike + Running: Users can always see up-to-date information about their exercise, including distance, run length and pace. The application can also motivate you and organize your exercise plan
- Twitter Trends: Typing on such a small screen is difficult and in the case of a circular display it is practically impossible. That's why Twitter allows Gear S2 owners to follow the latest events, but not to tweet.
- Line: The free IM app here features simple controls and also comes with its own watch faces with cartoon characters in the background.
- Yelp: Reviews and information about restaurants, flights, shops and cafes are now also available on the Gear S2 watch, so you literally have them "always at hand".
- Volkswagen: It's time to move on, and even Volkswagen has cars that are connected to your devices via the Internet. Thanks to the e-Remote function, you can immediately access information about your car, you can check if the doors are locked, you can turn on the air conditioning and, if you have an electric car, you can disconnect it from the charger. However, do not look here for information on emissions.
- SmartThings: The company, which Samsung bought out last year, has its own app for the Gear S2. With its help, users can control individual pieces of smart electronics in their home, and you can also control the situation remotely. Because from time to time a person is overcome by that feeling of insecurity, whether he locked the door or whether he left the lights on. Alternatively, you can set it on the remote so that everything is already ready for your return home.
- Kevo by UniKey: Safety above all else. If you use smart locks from UniKey, you can unlock or lock them again with the help of the Gear S2 watch. In addition, you can also send electronic keys to your family members or visitors, without having to spend half an hour searching for the keys.
- Voxer: Another IM app. This allows friends to send live audio, so you can be in touch with them immediately. Now also thanks to the microphone and speaker in the Gear S2 watch.
